Presidential spox asks not to dramatize Telegram blocking delay

MOSCOW, Apr 26 (PRIME) -- The Kremlin does not see any reason to dramatize or sneer at technological activities of the communications service to block messenger Telegram in Russia, president’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Thursday.

Peskov said his account of the messenger works, but with problems.

“Yes, Telegram works, there is nothing special about it. It works with errors. They are frequent or seldom, but it’s evident that the communications service is fulfilling the law and the court’s decision,” Peskov said.

Director of the Federal Antimonopoly Service Igor Artemyev said earlier that he is not certain of the success of complete blocking of Telegram in Russia, but wishes good luck to the communications watchdog.

“It’s clear that it is not simple from the technological point of view to execute the court’s decision. But the authority is working. If there is a delay due to technological reasons, probably, we should not dramatize…or sneer at it,” Peskov said.
